Intercom pricing: the seat, the Fin outcome, and the bill they make together

Intercom charges in two units: seats, and outcomes for its Fin AI agent. Here are the seat prices, read from Intercom's own pricing page on 27 September 2026, and what a month actually costs at three different volumes.

What Intercom costs per year

What Intercom costs per year on yearly billing, by team size
Plan, per year1 person3 people10 people
Intercom Essential$348$1,044$3,480
Intercom Advanced$1,020$3,060$10,200
Intercom Expert$1,584$4,752$15,840
Moorline$108One person onlyOne person only

The jump between tiers is Essential to Advanced, 2.9 times the seat, and it is where the workflow builder, multiple team inboxes and round robin live. For three people, that is $1,044 a year against $3,060. The bigger catch is what this table leaves out: every figure in it is seats only, and Fin is billed per outcome on top of all of them.

Fin, Copilot and usage costs

  • Fin AI agent: $0.99 per outcome, which counts a resolution, a completed procedure or a handoff.
  • Fin Voice: $1.99 per voice outcome.
  • Copilot: $29 per seat a month on annual billing, $35 monthly.
  • WhatsApp, SMS, bulk email and phone are charged by usage.

Worked monthly bills. One Essential seat on yearly billing ($29 a month), with Fin at three volumes. The example assumes each conversation Fin touches ends in one billable outcome, whether a resolution or a handoff:

  • 100 outcomes a month: $99 for Fin, $128 in total.
  • 500 outcomes a month: $495 for Fin, $524 in total.
  • 2,000 outcomes a month: $1,980 for Fin, $2,009 in total.

From 30 outcomes a month, Fin costs more than the seat it runs on. Because a handoff is billed as well, the count follows how many conversations Fin touches, not only how many it settles. Copilot is separate again: $29 per seat a month on yearly billing, which takes an Essential seat from $29 to $58.

What Essential leaves out

Essential has no workflow builder, a single team inbox, no round robin and no multilingual or private help centre.

Essential is not a cut-down demo. It has the shared inbox, the messenger and Fin, which is the heart of Intercom. What it lacks is the machinery for splitting work between teams, and a small team with one inbox can go a long way without it.

The price test. In September 2026 Intercom was testing a lower Essential price ($19 on annual billing) with some visitors, so the price you see may differ from the list price here. At the test price, a year of Essential for one person would be $228 instead of $348.

Is Intercom worth it for one person?

Intercom is at its best as messaging-first support: an in-app chat widget, with Fin answering inside the product. For a software company with enough conversations for Fin to take a real share of them, that pairing is very hard to match, and the per-outcome price ties the AI bill to the conversations Fin actually handles.

For one person answering email, the bill has the wrong shape. The seat is priced for a team, email is a secondary channel routed through Intercom, and the Fin line grows every time a customer gets an answer. Moorline charges $9 a month whatever your volume, with no per-resolution charge, and works on the mailbox you already have. The full side-by-side is in the Intercom alternative without per-resolution pricing.

Questions people ask about Intercom pricing

How much does Intercom cost per seat?

Essential is $29 per seat per month billed yearly or $39 monthly, Advanced is $85 or $99, and Expert is $132 on yearly billing only. Fin is charged on top at $0.99 per outcome. In September 2026 some visitors were shown Essential at $19 on yearly billing as part of a price test, so the page may not match these figures.

How much does Intercom Fin cost?

$0.99 per outcome, where an outcome is a resolution, a completed procedure or a handoff to a person. Fin Voice is $1.99 per voice outcome. At 500 outcomes a month, Fin alone is $495, on top of your seats.

Does Intercom have a free plan?

No. There is a 14-day trial with no card needed, and after it the cheapest plan is Essential at $29 per seat a month on yearly billing, plus Fin outcomes.

Is Intercom cheaper than Zendesk?

It depends which Zendesk. Zendesk Support Team is $19 per agent on yearly billing against Intercom Essential at $29, but Support Team has no messaging or live chat. The Zendesk Suite, which does, starts at $55, so for chat-based support Essential is the cheaper seat. The AI charges use different units: Intercom bills $0.99 per Fin outcome, handoffs included, while Zendesk includes 5 to 10 AI resolutions per agent a month and charges $1.50 to $2.00 for each one after that.

Is there an Intercom app for Mac?

No. Intercom has no desktop app; it runs in the browser. If you want a native Mac app for answering customers, Moorline is one, for macOS 15 or later, though it is built for one person working from email rather than a team working from a chat widget.
