Missive pricing: three plans, a 5-user ceiling, and AI you can bring yourself

Prices are in US dollars per user per month, read from Missive’s pricing page on 27 September 2026. Yearly billing takes 20% to 22% off the monthly price. The trial is 30 days of Productive, no card needed. No free plan.

What Missive costs per year

The jump that catches people is user number 6. Starter is capped at 5, so a team of 5 pays $840 a year, and a team of 6 has to be on Productive at $1,728. A smaller team can reach the other edge first, because Productive is where rules and integrations arrive: for three people that is $504 against $864 a year.

Add-ons and AI costs

• AI runs on Missive credits (the model provider’s price plus 25%) or on your own API key. Productive and Business start with $5 of credits.

A worked example. Say the drafting and summaries your team runs in a month would cost $20 at the model provider’s own price. Through Missive credits that month is $25, the extra $5 being the 25% margin. On your own API key it is the $20, billed by the provider. On Productive and Business, the $5 of starting credits would cover the first $5 of that $25.

The margin is the price of not managing a key and a second bill. For light use it is small change. For a team that leans on AI all day, bringing your own key is the cheaper route, and Missive leaves that choice to you.

What Starter leaves out

Starter caps you at 5 users and has no rules, integrations or API access.

That is a fair line to draw. Rules are how a shared inbox sorts itself without someone doing it by hand, and integrations and the API are how it talks to the rest of your tools. A few people sharing one support address can do without both for a while; Productive is where the inbox starts running itself. Business adds SAML single sign-on, IP restrictions and advanced analytics, which is a security and reporting decision rather than a size one.

Is Missive worth it for one person?

Missive is one of the most fairly priced shared inboxes there is, and it puts team chat next to the mail, so colleagues can discuss a thread without forwarding it. Those are features for a group. For one person the chat has nobody in it, and a Starter seat at $168 a year buys a shared inbox with no one to share it with, on the plan without rules or integrations.
